Black Bay

Black Bay is a small beach located on Ireland Island in Sandy's Parish. With peaceful waters and rough sand, the beach is a great place for sea glass hunting, though it is less than ideal for sunbathing. The area is quiet and mostly limited to locals, and can be accessed off of Cockburn Road.

On the South West coast of Ireland Island South, Black Bay is situated near the heart of Ireland Island South, 2.1 miles northeast of Somerset Island; it's 1.7 miles to the northeast of Somerset Village. Although there are a lot of choices to be made on vacation, choosing a beach that suits your family could be one of the most important. You will find that beaches like Black Bay are some of the best options in Bermuda.

How to Access The Beach

Black Bay is close to the main road and is easily accessible by bus, foot, and car. Buses #7 and #8 pass the area. Drivers can utilize nearby vacant spots.

Amenities and Ambiance

The beach at Black Bay is primarily available during low tide periods, disappearing completely during high tide. The water is shallow and clear, but also contains sharp rocks, so casual swimmers may wish to look elsewhere. The nearby Lagoon Park guarantees that the area will not be overcrowded and also makes for an excellent picnic spot.

Unfortunately, public restrooms aren't available, which is something to consider if you're bringing the kids, or plan to spend all day outside.

Since Black Bay is located within a hot tourist destination, many try to show up early.
