Attractions in Bermuda

As one of the leading beach resorts in the world, Bermuda is best known for its pink sand beaches. The pink powdery sands were created by the powerful waves of the Atlantic Ocean, which crush the shells of tiny red crustaceans and form the sand of the iridescent beaches. The island is divided into nine parishes, and each has beach space. Some parishes have more public beaches, while others feature more exclusive oceanfront property. Many of Bermuda's beaches are privately owned by resorts, so check with your hotel and find out if it has private beach property.

Different coastal areas on the island have different features. Beaches on the island's northern shores offer picturesque beach-front scenery, as well as great spots for families and secluded ocean side property. So you can enjoy a quiet walk on the beach or exciting water sports with the kids.

Nature

Another way to experience Bermuda is by touring local landmarks.  Many of the important spots in Bermuda showcase how great a prevalence British culture has had on the island.  From the six military fortresses to government buildings and historic homes, Great Britain has touched a part of every aspect of life on the island in the past.  You can also learn about maritime history when you visit the HMS Deliverance or the Bermuda Maritime Museum.

Casinos

Despite the popularity of casinos across the Caribbean, vacationers will not find any in Bermuda.  The idea of allowing casino gambling to increase tourism revenue on the island has been brought up numerous times, and the government even okay-ed gambling on cruise ships docked in Bermuda for a short time.  While it is possible that one day a casino will open in Bermuda, vacationers who yearn to play the slots may wish to pay a visit to another locale in the Caribbean during their trip.

Although small in size, Bermuda is big on things to see and do. Depending on how long you plan to vacation on the island, you may not be able to fit everything into one trip.
